One unforgettable F1 experience. One complete package.
Our fully inclusive Grand Prix packages are designed to give you a hassle free Grand Prix experience without the limitations of travelling with a large group tour operator.
With Altitude Luxury Travel, there isn’t the stress of arranging everything yourself or wondering how you’ll make it to the circuit in time. Your travel manager arranges everything. You can simply enjoy the thrill and atmosphere of Formula One™.
Relax in a superior hotel, in a prime location. Travel smoothly with coordinated flights and door-to-door transfers. Everything you want from an incredible race weekend is included in our ATOL-protected packages. And if you want to add extra nights or additional activities, we’ll tailor a package just for you.
We feel it is very important that our Grand Prix™ packages are fully inclusive of everything you need for an incredible race weekend.
If you choose to travel to Austin with Altitude Luxury Travel, it's likely that you'll share a few things in common with our regular guests who travel with us to Grand Prix around the world year on year. You'll probably want a package that includes:
• All the essential inclusions like transport, accommodation and tickets
• Attention to detail & professional service so you can simply enjoy your weekend at the Grand Prix
• Value for money with no hidden extras or exclusions
If we can't deliver these three simple things we've not done our job. Knowing all the potential pitfalls of cutting back on service and inclusions we'd rather kindly decline business than risk jeopardising your trip.
You may be booking this trip as a gift for a friend or family member and just the thought of organising this trip is overwhelming. If this sounds familiar please just pick up the phone and call us on 0114 345 1977 and we can talk you through all the different options.
Here's what we include as standard
Flights from the UK to Austin. You may think this would be an essential inclusion but we have seen trips that don’t include this key element.
Airport transfers abroad are always included and you will never be expected to make your own way from the airport to hotel (or vice versa). This means you won’t be left queuing for a taxi at the airport or put at risk of paying over the odds with an unknown local operator.
Accommodation. We offer a choice of standard and premium hotels in Austin. We use the same hotels year on year based on guest feedback, hotel location, price and our own personal experiences. If we wouldn’t stay in a hotel ourselves we certainly won’t offer it to our guests.
Tickets. We'll always give you a price including tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As you're going to Austin on Grand Prix weekend you'll probably want race tickets to be included. We feel it can be confusing and unhelpful if tickets aren’t included as standard.

Getting around during the United States Grand Prix™
First things first – getting to the Circuit of the Americas from downtown Austin is nice and easy. Shuttle buses run often from the Austin Convention Center, which is downtown on the corner of 4th and Trinity.
There are a few shuttle bus options. The Front Gate Shuttle is $50 per round trip (don’t forget you need to buy tickets in advance), and it drops you off next to COTA’s Grand Plaza. The Grand Plaza is close to Turns 12-20, and it’s particularly good for access to the Turn 15 Grandstand.
The McAngus Shuttle service also leaves from the Convention Center, but it drops you at COTA’s McAngus Lot, which is a 20-minute walk from the Grand Plaza. McAngus Shuttle tickets are only $15 per person per day if bought in advance, or $20 on arrival.
We can also help you arrange private chauffeur-drive circuit transfers from USD200 (approximately £150) return journey.
Once you’ve arrived at COTA, two free tram services run on the outside road of the track to help you get to your seat.
When booking taxis to and from the circuit, remember that only authorised taxi firms can enter COTA. Make sure you book in advance with an approved company. In previous years there’s been a special Uber drop-off and pick-up point next to the Grand Plaza.
And when it comes to enjoying the city, prepare to be surprised at how walkable Austin is. In most American cities, you need a car to do anything. In Austin, you can walk across the whole downtown area in an hour or so – and you’ll find a lot of great shops, bars and restaurants along the way.
Downtown Austin is also less than 5 miles from the airport, and you can get a shuttle bus, a taxi (for about $30), or use Uber or Lyft.

"I couldn’t fault our trip to the Singapore Grand Prix organised by Altitude Luxury Travel. We managed to fit so much into a small amount of time and the experience was fantastic. The hotel was amazing both for location and quality, the flights were excellent and we especially enjoyed the race. Rob and the team couldn’t have done anything more for us and we really appreciated the great service. We chose Altitude as Rob was so informative and constantly stayed in touch, we really liked the level of contact involved and felt reassured everything was in hand."

Where to eat, drink and hangout in Austin
Austin is famous for its slow-cooked barbeque, live music and laid-back vibe. But my top pick for a post-race party has to be Pete's Duelling Pianos on 6th Street. It’s a firm favourite with the F1 fraternity, and was Lewis Hamilton’s venue of choice for celebrating his third Driver’s Championship. If you want to party like (or maybe even with) an F1 driver, don’t miss it. I’ve spotted Lewis and Nico Rosberg there myself. The Moonshine Bar & Grill on Red River Street is a local food favourite, serving delicious southern dishes in a beautiful historic building. I recommend the cowboy-rubbed flat iron steak with smoked cheddar butter and Shiner Bock sauce (made with a good Texas beer). Speaking of good beers, Austin Amber Ale was my favourite of the many local craft brews. If you’re looking for barbeque, family-run Franklin Barbeque lives up to its huge reputation with incredible brisket, ribs, turkey and sausage. There’s usually a long wait time, though. Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que is another great BBQ option - and the brisket comes personally recommended by Sky Sports’ F1 commentator David Croft. Other great places to check out include the unique bars on Rainey Street, the hipster vibes of South Congress Avenue, and The W Austin Hotel with its secret bar and special Grand Prix cocktail menu. |

Here’s how to get the most out of a trip to the US Grand Prix™
Here’s how to get the most out of a US Grand Prix break.
If you’re heading to Austin for the United States Grand Prix, why not turn it into a longer trip? Texas itself is full of incredible sights, but it’s also close to renowned Southern US destinations like New Orleans, Nashville and Memphis. With the low cost of car hire, you may as well tick a few off your bucket list!
I recommend making the most of Austin first. A free guided tour of the beautiful and historic State Capital building is an entertaining place to start - the day I went, the tour guide made it as funny as it was fascinating. And not far from the city, Barton Creek Greenbelt offers challenging mountain bike terrain while the Texas Hill Country is home to wineries and stunning hiking and cycle tracks.
